The picture frame section at a thrift store is something I never pass up without a thorough inspection. Not only do I sometimes find unusual or eye-catching art for our home, but there are often interesting frames that can be repurposed into something completely new. Sometimes the repurpose is simple- used as a frame for other prints or photos. But there are also some really clever ways to repurpose and upcycle those picture frames in entirely new and unexpected ways.Read more ›
Mid Century Modern Wall Art
As soon as I spotted this retro wooden frame at a Goodwill, I was intrigued. It was as if some wood paneling and a picture frame had a baby and created this. I could also tell that the still life pictures were just printed cardboard- nothing of value to worry about. So I wondered if I could upcycle it in order to create some mid century modern wall art that was more our style.Read more ›
Picture Frame Wreath as Neutral Fall Decor
I recently had a chance to work with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, which serves the Charlotte area. They asked me to create a simple project for them using something that is regularly available at their thrift stores. So, I decided to create a picture frame wreath for them, and went with a neutral fall decor theme.Read more ›

Framed Cork Board from a Picture Frame
I was cleaning up my Craft Room a bit and found some cork board sheets that I had snagged on a thrifting adventure in the past. If I found the picture frame, I could combine them into a framed cork board to use as home office decor!Read more ›
Pocket Watch Wall Clock from a Picture Frame
This multi photo frame was unusual enough to catch my eye at the thrift store. Right off the bat, it reminded me of a vintage pocket watch with its multiple round spots for clock faces. Of course, when the cashier remarked how unique the frame was and I mentioned the pocket watch familiarity that I was feeling, she looked at me like I was crazy. But that’s ok- I’m used to that by now. All I knew was that I planned to turn it into a pocket watch wall clock (albeit a fake one) to hang on the wall!Read more ›
Framing Maps in Antique Oval Picture Frames
A couple of months ago, I posted a photo on my Sadie Seasongoods Facebook page. It was a project I had worked on a year ago, before I had even started my blog. The response to me framing maps in oval picture frames was was overwhelmingly good. So, I knew I was onto something and decided to create new ones so that I could share it as a project tutorial here on my blog.Read more ›
DIY Herb Drying Rack from a Repurposed Picture Frame
