And just like that…2021 is coming to a close! It’s been a transformative year for me, personally- my first book was released (!!!) and we bought a house here in the Charlotte area. But it’s certainly been a challenging year once again. So, I won’t dwell on this past year’s low points But, I *WILL* spend a little time looking back on some of the repurposed projects that my friends and I (The Thrift Store Decor Team) came up with throughout the past year.
I have to admit- 2021 challenged my ability to be creative. Between pandemic fatigue and building a house, I was definitely less “bloggy” this year. Here’s hoping I find my mojo again in 2022!
But…I did crank out a few projects this year. Such as some felt succulents that I “planted” in thrift store containers…
And upcycling some patterned sweaters into Boho Pillow covers…
And, of course, my personal highlight- the release of my first book! Definitely the apex moment of 2021.
Before I show you the entire collection of repurposed projects from the Thrift Store Decor Team (all 100 of them!), here are a few of my personal favorites from the gals!
Repurposed Projects that I Love
I always love a good upcycled craft project for the garden, so this totem-style bird bath from House of Hawthornes really caught my eye!
I also loved how Organized Clutter transformed a child’s easel into this stunning piece of wall art!
This tiered tray from Shop at Blu was SO colorful and pretty. And I had no idea that she had done the artwork on the trays with markers!
And how amazing is this garden decor from Petticoat Junktion? I just LOVE everything about it!
Another favorite of mine was how My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia upcycled this plastic tray. The transformation is pretty mind-blowing!
Ok, I’ve made you wait long enough to see the entire collection of repurposed projects. And I’ll spotlight a few more of my favorites at the end, too!
Repurposed Projects for Your Home and Garden
WOW! I really need to go thrifting again. I’d been on a thrifting hiatus while we moved, but these repurposed projects are SO inspiring.
Upcycling Ideas and Thrift Store Inspiration
Ok, as promised, please indulge me while I share a few more favorites from the collection! Such as this business card holder that My Repurposed Life made from old yardsticks.
I was also completely blown away by the GORGEOUS makeover that Our Southern Home gave to this vintage mirror.
This lamp from a large glass jar or demijohn is also stunning!
Upcycled and Repurposed Projects for Our New Home
I hope you’ve enjoyed all of these repurposed projects from myself and the team! Thrift stores and yard sales are an endless source of inspiration, aren’t they?
So that begs the question, what kind of projects will I work on in 2022? Well, we *did* just build a brand new, energy-efficient home that I am currently styling. And we’re going with an eclectic midcentury modern look in our living room.
Which means there will be plenty of projects inspired by that aesthetic for certain!
I also really enjoyed crafting with things found outside, too- not just the thrift store. So, maybe more of that as well, next year?
Either way, I thank you- as always- for being a part of my upcycling and blogging journey. Can you believe we’re coming up on 8 years of Sadie Seasongoods? What a wonderful, uncharted journey it’s been so far!
