Years ago, I thrifted a vintage salt and pepper shaker that looked like a cactus. I used it in my Thrift the Look: Boho post, (see it in the lower righthand corner below?). But, since then, I kept finding one ceramic cactus after another and ended up with enough to make a cactus garden!
I’ve mentioned it before, but in my early days of blogging, I used to create content for the Goodwill region in Greenville, SC. Since then, Goodwill has deactivated their blog and I’ve been adding those posts to my own website over time. Decorative trays are something I’m always drawn to in thrift stores. Sometimes, they’re plain and an ideal canvas for a makeover idea. Other times, though, I see them as the catalyst for another project completely, no longer living life as a tray. And then there are those even rarer times, when I find something else completely that I end up turning into a tray.
As soon as I spotted this retro wooden frame at a Goodwill, I was intrigued. It was as if some wood paneling and a picture frame had a baby and created this. I could also tell that the still life pictures were just printed cardboard- nothing of value to worry about.
