My Crafting Book is Available for Pre-Order!

My Crafting Book is Available for Pre-Order!

I don’t normally send you an email if I don’t have a new project post (or Junkin’ Journey) to share. But I am so excited to share this news with you. My first book, “Crafting with Flannel”, is now available for pre-order!

Writing the Book on Flannel Crafts

As most of you already know, I have a long history with flannel crafts using thrift store shirts. And I’ve learned over the years, that I’m not the only one!

So, writing a book on crafting with flannel was truly a natural fit for me.

But my book is more than just upcycling flannel shirts. There are dozens of projects that use new flannel fabric, as well. So, it’s definitely a blend of upcycling AND crafting, which was a more universal approach for all types of crafters.

And while there are plenty of projects that involve sewing, there are tons that are geared towards non-sewists, as well.

Now, it’s true that “Crafting with Flannel” was supposed to come out in September 2020. But world events had different plans, and a lot of titles at my publisher were pushed back.

So, we have to wait until February 2021 for it to be released. All I can do is hope that it’s worth the wait!

Behind the Scenes of “Crafting with Flannel”

Because I always like to be transparent and authentic here on my blog, I thought you might enjoy some “behind the scenes” facts about the book:

  • My name isn’t actually Sadie Seasongoods, although I’ve been answering to it for several years now. My real name is Sarah Ramberg, which is what you’ll see on the cover. “Sadie Seasongoods” stems from two different great-grandmothers’ names that I blended together.
  • I had to learn how to use a DSLR camera during the book writing process, which was an insane thing to do. But phone cameras don’t shoot in high enough resolution for book printing!
  • Speaking of photography, I took some of the projects on a “field trip” for their photos! I asked a local resident for permission to use their GORGEOUS property for a photoshoot, and they happily agreed.
  • For several months, our old home was dubbed “The Lumberjack Frat House” because of all the flannel shirts that were strewn about, in nearly every room.

I obviously can’t share too many project photos from the book here. And while several of the tutorials in the book have step-by-step photos (just like my blog), not all of them do. It would have made the book incredibly expensive to include every single step-by-step photo for all 55 projects.

So, here’s my promise to everyone who buys the book: If you have any questions about the flannel project tutorials within the book, just email me or contact me through social media. I’m more than happy to assist or clarify anything and everything that I wrote about!

I might even have in-process project photos I can share with you to help you with DIY hurdles!

All I can ask is that you buy the book first and then I’ll be happy to help with questions you have along your own crafting journey!

Are you a bookstore or other merchant who is interested in my book? Please check this page out for additional preview photos and distribution information.

Thank you so much for sharing in my excitement. Writing this crafting book was a life-long goal of mine and I still can’t believe that it’s really happening. I’m just so grateful to you for being a part of this journey with me.

From the bottom of my flannel-loving heart, I thank you.

Craft on!
