Springtime is definitely the season for parties and the need for small gifts. Bridal showers, Mother’s Day, end-of-year teacher gifts…you get the picture. While the requisite bottle of wine or bouquet of flowers is a perfectly pleasant gift, sometimes you just want something a little more unique and/or memorable. And as strange as it may sound, I have the perfect idea that uses vintage soup mugs!Read more ›

How to Paint a Purse with Angelus Leather Paint
Even though I don’t carry a clutch very often, I was drawn to this one I found at Goodwill. The interior was clean, the magnetic clasp worked, and the price was definitely right. BUT, I wasn’t thrilled about the color (off white). That’s when I did a little research and discovered Angelus leather paint.
Fabric Bracelets from a Vintage Sheet
As a general rule, bangles don’t usually fit me very well. My wrists are, quite literally, the only dainty part of my body. Which means, the average bangle bracelet just won’t stay on. I took a chance and tried on these plastic bangles from the thrift store and was blown away at how well they fit! I didn’t care much for their appearance, but I knew I could transform them into fabric bracelets that would look more my style.Read more ›

Condiment Set in a Card Catalog Drawer
I’ll be the first to admit that THIS project…is not really a project. It’s more of a famous store hack idea that I turned into a hot chocolate bar. Upcycling a Vintage Scarf as a Lavender Eye Pillow for Self Care
As a woman who suffers from frequent headaches, both migraine and sinus pressure, a lavender eye pillow is a must-have in my bedside table. I’ve had the same one for years, made from silky satin with just the perfect amount of weight for my eyes. Making my own version was never on my crafting to-do list until Kate DiNatale Vintage gifted me with a bag full of vintage scarves that were too blemished to sell. They had minor tears or stains…making them perfect candidates for repurposing.Read more ›
Vintage Seed Packets in an Antique Window Frame
I’ve always admired antique window frames at vintage shops and architectural salvage stores. I didn’t pull the trigger for a while, though, because they were often too big or too expensive. When I finally found the right old window frame for me, I wondered if I could use it to display my collection of vintage seed packets.

Movie Reel Decor from Spice Shakers
Way back in the earliest days of my blog, I turned a thrifted spice rack into an organizer for my Craft Room. At the time when I made that project, I had set aside the spice shakers from each of the jars. I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them, but figured it didn’t hurt to hang on to them for a little while. And as time marched on, I started thinking they looked like film reels. And since I love anything in miniature, I thought I might transform them into movie reel decor.
