30+ Upcycling Ideas for Alternative Christmas Trees

30+ Upcycling Ideas for Alternative Christmas Trees

In the world of upcycling, there are two fundamental truths. Anything round (or round-ish) can become a pumpkin and anything triangular can become a Christmas tree. And as much as I love real pumpkins and real Christmas trees, I also love unique versions such as the alternative Christmas trees that I’ve gathered for your inspiration.

Even though I’ve already put together a collection of recycled Christmas decor to inspire you, I decided that I wanted a separate collection of upcycling ideas that were specific to trees.

Besides, I’m certainly no stranger to unique Christmas trees that I’ve upcycled and repurposed. Take, for instance, this Christmas tree craft that I made from a coffee mug tree

Or this Boho-inspired Christmas tree from a bamboo wine rack.

See what I mean, though? If you try hard enough and believe in yourself, just about anything can become a Christmas tree!

Whether you need a wall Christmas tree or a small tabletop tree like this below, there is a Christmas tree craft out there, just waiting for you to give it a try.

And with alternative Christmas trees that are made from ladders, reclaimed wood, or even lampshades, there are full size tree ideas out there, too.

So, I’ve gathered some of my favorite recycled Christmas decor ideas for trees into one easy source of inspiration for you! They are all recycled, repurposed, or upcycled and use any number of items from your home, garage, or even the side of the curb.

And they’re made from such unexpected items from thrift stores or something you forgot that you tucked away in the closet.

So, tell me – will you be making any Christmas tree crafts this year? And did you find any inspiration from this collection?

I sure hope so. The more Christmas trees around the house at this time of year, the better. At least, that’s what I think! Especially when they started out as anything BUT a tree- such as this vintage jack stand!

If you enjoyed these ideas for recycled Christmas decor, then you’ll love my rustic holiday wreath idea that I made from flannel shirts!
